The history and hospitality of Three Rivers Ranch is what makes it such a unique place to stay. Lonnie Allen has been owner and operator of Three Rivers Ranch since 1987. Her great-grandparents, Fred and Berta Lewies homesteaded and started the Warm River Inn and Rendezvous Dance Hall in Warm River in the early 1920’s. The business grew into a small resort area café, dance hall, cabins, and train stop for tourists headed to Yellowstone National Park. In 1974, Lonnie’s parents Harry and Lillian Lewies approached the Orvis Company about opening one of the first Orvis endorsed fly fishing lodges. In order to receive such an honor, a lodge must reach rigorous standards that Orvis expects from a fly fishing lodge.
After 30 years, Lonnie is excited to celebrate this momentous anniversary of her operations at Three Rivers Ranch this summer. Now a four generation family business with all 4 of Lonnie’s children having some involvement in the business. In addition to her celebration, Three Rivers Ranch will be offering 101 fly fishing lessons all summer for free!
If you are not an avid fly fisher, here is what Three Rivers Ranch provides: they will pick you up at the airport, whether it be in Idaho Falls or Jackson, and shuttle you to the ranch. When you arrive you will be treated as a king or queen which most people choose to enjoy for 5 days and 6 nights. While at the lodge, guests are provided a full breakfast, a tour guide for when they are fly fishing, then return to hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a gourmet dinner. Many of their guests have such an enjoyable time that Three Rivers Ranch has a 90% return rate on their guests! Three Rivers Ranch has 40 employees that take care of the guests and are people from around our beautiful area and contribute to Fremont County’s economy.
Three Rivers Ranch provides the lodge and cabins. They cater to fly fishers from all over the world, they have 4 fly shops (their newest location is in Eagle, Idaho; Driggs, Island Park, and Ashton (where the State Liquor Store is located also). They have an online store at trroutfitters.com.
